DC/DC converters with high isolation
DC/DC converters for applications that require high Isolation up to 10kVDC
DC/DC converters are typically galvanically isolated between the input and outputs. This galvanic isolation have different construction and voltages. The simplest (functional) isolation can withstand 1000VDC for one second. Although 1000VDC sounds impressive, sometimes it is still not sufficient. Medical and IGBT gate drivers demand higher isolation voltage. RECOM’s High Isolation converters offer up to 10 times the isolation voltage in compact packages.
RECOM’s IGBT converters have isolation up to 6.4kVDC and asymmetric outputs. The asymmetric outputs of +15V and -9V replaces two converters with one converter, thus saving board space. The high isolation will be able to withstand the stress placed by the high switching rate. RECOM’s IGBT converters are offered in various isolation voltages (up to 6.4kV) and package sizes (SIP/DIP).
1-10W Low Power AC/DC Power Modules
Compact modules with very low no load power consumption and extra wide universal 80-305 VAC input.
The RAC series is a compact and highly efficient modular solution that offers a wide range of output power options from 1 to 10 watts. These AC/DC modules feature efficiency as high as 86%, are short circuit protected, and offer up to 3kVAC isolation voltage. There are two different input voltage versions available for most types: a standard 80-264VAC input or a wider input voltage range of 80-305VAC to power devices such as smart meters, cameras, high bay lights, etc. directly from the US 277VAC line. The series offer output voltages ranging from 3.3VDC to 24VDC and for the 4W to 10W series there are as well ±5, ±12 and ±15VDC dual outputs available. All series are CE, EN and UL certified and come with a 3 year warranty.
Historically a 10W converter like the RAC10 was considered low power. However, RECOM has heard the requests of their customers and met the market demand for ultra-low power in a highly efficient compact module that can easily be dropped into any design. RECOM’s low power AC/DC converter, along with a simple relay to a standby circuit can drastically reduce the amount of energy a device consumes in standby mode.
